To some, “The Gorge” only refers to one place – the unmistakable Linville Gorge Wilderness Area, also hailed as “The Grand Canyon of the East”. With its distinct and rugged peaks, this iconic place is easily spotted from many vistas. I captured this image of the sun rising just to the right of Table Rock, with Hawksbill to the left of that, from the Blue Ridge Parkway near Mt. Mitchell on a cool summer morning.
